The church of Saint Catherine in Saint Petersburg, Russia, was built between 1763 and 1783 by Vallin de la Mothe and Antonio Rinaldi. This catholic church incorporates the baroque and classical styles that were converging at the time in Russia. The grave of Stanisław Poniatowski, the last king of Poland and yet another lover of Catherine the Great, is here. As with so many churches in the city, services stopped here during the Soviet period, but Saint Catherine's is once again fully operational.
