Metal handstamp overprints made in Leżajsk in 1944. Leżajsk is a town in southeast Poland between Tarnobrzeg and Przemysł.

Leżajsk overprint
There are two main types of local overprints from Leżajsk:
Type I: Encircled eagle with a crown on its head and with the letter L on its breast. At the bottom the text "POLSKA POCZTA" in two lines, cancelling the German text.
Type II: Encircled eagle, smaller than type I, without the crown. At the bottom the text "POLSKA POCZTA" in two lines, cancelling the German text.
