Izbica is a village between Zamość and Krasnystaw in southeast Poland.
In Izbica, Generalgouvernement Warschau overprints (Michel 12, 14-16) were additionally overprinted "Poczta Polska" (height: 18¾ mm) and two horizontal lines, with a distance of 5 mm between the lines. The overprints are black or dark violet. Stamps with crossed out German text with a black, red or violet pen writing "Poczta Polska" are also known. These stamps were generally overprinted in violet.
