Early German stamps

Fischer PW1-52 | Michel numbers (Deutsches Reich) see below | Year of issue 1920

When Danzig became an independent city when it was separated from the German Empire on 10 January 1920, there were no Danzig stamps yet. Therefore, the following German Empire stamps are considered forerunners and semi-forerunners of stamps for Danzig and the Freie Stadt Danzig (Free City of Danzig).
